A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

I would like to welcome you to Kennedy Elementary School.  Our building houses all of the 4th and 5th graders in the Manistee Area Public School district.  We have a very active Parent Teacher Organization, lots of afterschool activities, and an eager staff willing to assist your child in student achievement.

Through daily instruction with highly qualified staff, afterschool tutoring programs, and lots of resources at our disposal, we make student achievement our top priority.  Please call or e-mail my office with any questions or comments you may have.  We would love to hear from you.  My e-mail address is:   kksports@manistee.org.

At Manistee Area Public Schools we want the very best for all of our students. We have developed a continuum of education from Pre-School to Twelfth Grade. Our devoted teachers, administrators and support staff take a very personal approach to educating students at every level.   • Breakfast available 7:30 am
  • First Bell at 7:50 am
  • Second Bell at 7:55 am - Classes begin
  • 4th Grade Recess at 10:15 am - 10:30 am
  • 5th Grade lunch at 11:00 am - 11:35 am
  • 4th Grade lunch at 11:35 am - 12:10 pm
  • 5th Grade Recess at 1:20 pm - 1:40 pm
  • 4th Grade Recess at 1:40 pm - 1:55 pm
  • Dismissal at 3:05 pm

Students have the following options in the morning before school starts:

a) Stay outside for recess time

b) Bring backpack, coat, etc to locker & then head outside

c) Have breakfast at 7:30 then head outside

d) Bus students enter building at 5th grade doors (near bus garage)

e) Students dropped off should enter at gym doors or central/middle entrance

f) All students will be directed to gym in case of inclement weather
