MEAP SCHEDULE - OCT 2008 Minimize

The State of Michigan “grades” each school in the state for Annual Yearly Progress (AYP.)  We are proud to report Manistee Middle School is an “A” school.

Part of the AYP grade is based on the yearly MEAP test scores.  The State of Michigan recently changed the testing rules and times, and each school in the state is required by law to follow the new test schedule and procedures.

Parents can help by:

  1. Avoiding absences from school on the test dates when possible.  When students are absent, please call in as soon as possible and ask for the test make-up day.
  2. Rescheduling appointments outside the test window.
  3. Encouraging your child to get a good night’s sleep, and a good breakfast.
  4. Talking positively about the MEAP tests, and how it helps our schools and community.

Feel free to contact Mr. Kieffer or Ms. Raddatz if you have any questions about the new laws or the MEAP test itself.  Thanks for making this a positive experience for kids.
